   Tournees French Film Festival Finale: "Tomboy"

   Event Description :

The finale of Rhodes' Tournees French Film Festival is Céline Sciamma’s "Tomboy," screened in partnership with the Queer Advocacy student organization at Rhodes. "Tomboy" is a complex and sensitive portrait of childhood and a reflection on the complexities of gender and identity. Tomboy will be introduced by Judith Haas, assistant professor of English and director of Gender and Sexuality Studies at Rhodes. There will be a closing reception before the film at 6:30 pm in the Buckman Hall foyer. Free and open to the public, the film begins at 7 p.m.

The Tournées Festival is sponsored by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, Film Studies, the Spence L. Wilson Chair in the Humanities, and Gender and Sexuality Studies at Rhodes College in conjunction with the Alliance Française of Memphis. The Tournées Festival was made possible with the support of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the U.S. and the Centre National de la Cinématographie et de l’Image Animée, with the support of the French-American Cultural Exchange.
