The Lillian and Morrie Moss Endowment for the Visual Arts presents "All About Painting" by abstract painter Dona Nelson on Thursday, Jan. 31, at 6:30 p.m. in Blount Auditorium of Buckman Hall. The lecture is free and open to the public. Although Nelson's physical approach to large-scale paintings relates to Abstract Expressionism, she uses paint and other materials to suggest figures, landscapes, birds, and architecture. Her work has been included in collections including the Guggenheim Museum of Fine Art and Metropolitan Museum of Fine Art in New York City as well as the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art in Philadelphia. Nelson has served as a visiting critic at Yale University and a faculty member in the Summer MFA Program at the Milton Avery Graduate School of Arts at Bard College.
