   Partnerships with Schools Forum Led by Senior Official Michael Robbins '91

   Event Description :

Michael Robbins, senior advisor for nonprofit partnerships at the U.S. Department of Education, will address the campus and Memphis education leaders on the importance of community partnerships with schools. Free and open to the public, the event begins at 5:30 p.m. in Blount Auditorium of Buckman Hall.

A 1991 Rhodes graduate, Robbins works with communities across the country to strengthen partnerships between schools, families and community-based organizations and to create a community culture of education success. He also focuses on how digital learning can boost student engagement and learning.

Before joining the Obama administration, Robbins was instrumental in establishing The SEED School of Maryland, a public urban college-preparatory boarding school for disadvantaged students. While at SEED, he also chaired the board of the D.C. charter school association.
