   Springfield Music Lecture: Conductor James Jordan Presents "The Inner Life of a Musician"

Dr. James Jordan, conductor and innovator in choral music, will present "The Inner Life of a Musician" as part of the college's annual Springfield Music Lecture. Free and open to the public, the lecture begins at 7:30 p.m. at Evergreen Presbyterian Church (613 University St.).

Jordan is a professor at Rider University in Princeton, N.J. where he conducts the Westminster Schola Cantorum and Westminster Williamson Voices. His production of James Whitbourn's "Annelies" with Westminster Williamson Voices has been nominated for a 2014 Grammy Award.

Jordan has authored more than 30 books on all aspects of the choral art, and his residencies, master classes and guest conducting have taken him throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia.

The Springfield Music Lecture at Rhodes College was established in 1991 by a bequest from the late John Murry Springfield, a 1951 Rhodes graduate. Each year an outstanding musicologist, researcher, music historian or music theorist presents both formal and informal lectures that foster an increased appreciation of music as an academic discipline.
