Celebrating the Fall of the Berlin Wall: 20 Years Later 2:00pm - 5:00pm Category : Holidays/Special Events Location : Barret 051 The German Program at Rhodes College will host a celebration of the fall of the wall dividing East and West Berlin. Free and open to the public, the event will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. in Barret 051. The program includes: * A panel discussion with Germans from the Memphis area who were in Germany when the wall fell * A “then and now” slide show illustrating how much has changed since the wall and the inner-German border were dismantled * A presentation on the “East Side Gallery,” a section of the wall that is still standing and on which various artists have painted their vision of the wall. Free and open to the public, the lecture begins at 4:30 p.m. in Barret 051. Schantz's research centers on understanding the neurobehavioral effects of environmental contaminants such as polychlorinated biphenyls, methyl mercury and dioxin that enter the human diet. Orgill received honorary degrees from both schools and served on their trustee boards. This is the 55th anniversary of the trophy game dating back to 1954, and Rhodes has defeated Sewanee four of the last five seasons. This year’s game is November 14 at Fargason Field.
